The College of Education was established in 1993 and initially included two departments: History and Arabic Language. It later developed to include the departments of Arabic Language, English Language, History, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, and Educational and Psychological Sciences وفي العام 2009 انشطرت الكلية الى كليتين هما (كلية التربية صفي الدين الحلي ) وتضم الاقسام (اللغة العربية ، اللغة الانكليزية ، التاريخ ، الجغرافية ، العلوم التربوية والنفسية ) و كلية (التربية ابن حيان) و ضمت الأقسام : (الرياضيات ، الفيزياء )

University of Babylon is one of the major Iraqi universities, located in Babylon Governorate in central Iraq along the Euphrates River. The university consists of 21 colleges distributed across three main campuses, all situated in Al-Hillah city. The central campus is located west of Al-Hillah on the road connecting Babylon and Najaf, being the largest in terms of area and number of colleges, followed by the medical colleges campus in Al-Hillah residential area.
